It was Late Chinua Achebe the great novelist, that said "Integrity is the blunt refusal to be compromised". Integrity goes beyond just been honest. Integrity is the standard or principles one has set for him/her self to live wholly to ethical conduct, abiding to conformed rules and to be an administrator of good deeds.
Living the integrity life in this dispensation where corrupt practices overwhelms virtually all sectors could be quite uneasy but still not impossible.
The benefits of living the integrity life overrides the consequence of not living it. Integrity positively distinguishes one apart from the crowd...
Adopting a lifestyle of integrity start with a personal quality decision. You don’t live honestly and truthfully by chance or accident you do so by intention. Intentionality precedes a routine. So you need to examine yourself, deal with yourself on the subject and then come to a conclusion by deciding to live a life of integrity. It is purely by personal choice and nothing else. If anyone tells you they walk integrity without proper deliberation first, such a person in not telling the truth and you should avoid such a one.
With every decision comes a responsibility. The responsibility that comes with living in integrity and holiness is personal adjustment. These include adjustment in your values, mindset, principles, company and life structure to name a few. The acid test for the quality of your decision is your readiness to act and make required changes.
Five ways to help build your integrity:
1. Make promises and keep them.
2. Be honest in all your communication
3. Keep yourself and environment clean and organised.
4. Stay focused.
5. Allow for the proper influences.
